Plain Khichari
Plain Khichadi for a healthy Stomach
Roasted Moong Dal 1 cup
Green Chilies 2 no.
Jeera ½ tsp.
Salt ½ tsp.
Rice 3/4 cup
Pure Ghee 2 tbsp.
Salt to taste
- Wash and dry the moong dal.
- Heat a kadhai, put the moong dal and keep stirring vigorously until it changes to very light brown colour.
- Do not over roast the dal.
- Heat a deep dekchi or pressure cooker, put in pure ghee and fry till the jeera begins to splutter
- Add the moong and rice with sufficient water so that the khichuri turns into a creamy consistency.
- Once the khichri is ready, add a little extra ghee for taste.
