Plain Khichari

Plain Khichadi for a healthy Stomach

	Roasted Moong Dal	1 cup
	Green Chilies		2 no.
	Jeera			 tsp.
	Salt			 tsp.
	Rice			3/4 cup
	Pure Ghee		2 tbsp.
	Salt			to taste


  • Wash and dry the moong dal.
  • Heat a kadhai, put the moong dal and keep stirring vigorously until it changes to very light brown colour.
  • Do not over roast the dal.
  • Heat a deep dekchi or pressure cooker, put in pure ghee and fry till the jeera begins to splutter
  • Add the moong and rice with sufficient water so that the khichuri turns into a creamy consistency.
  • Once the khichri is ready, add a little extra ghee for taste.
